Volunteers
The Best of the Best!

Since 1914, Clovis Rodeo has been a local tradition since it was started by families as a community festival with horse races, picnics, games and a parade. From the beginning, this non-profit event depends on the spirit, dedication, hard work and collaboration of over 700 volunteer members to provide our community with an opportunity to experience true western heritage through the historical sport of rodeo and to host one of the best rodeos in the western states.

We are proud to be able to showcase top rodeo talent and provide family entertainment to our community and visitors. And we are even more proud to be able to help support local non-profit groups in our communities.

Many volunteers are never seen by rodeo fans, because we are busy behind the scenes making sure everything is ready and each performance comes off without a hitch.

We have volunteers sharing their time and talent by working in the ticket office, cooking tri-tip sandwiches, performing ground maintenance, managing the gates, helping contestants park their trailers, helping fans park in the lot, and providing technical support. Volunteers also prepare arena chutes, and manage the arena and the stock, just to mention a few of the hundreds of jobs that make the rodeo successful. But don’t forget all of the countless hours and work days that go into preparing for each rodeo throughout the year.

Our volunteers come from many walks of life; from students to doctors, ranchers to teachers; we represent many areas of our community. Clovis, Fresno and Central Valley residents have volunteered at the Clovis Rodeo for many years and generations of families have been volunteers, becoming part of the Clovis Rodeo family and history. With one common goal, our volunteers have the opportunity to meet new people, have fun, and to make a positive impact. For many of the volunteers it’s about keeping the tradition of rodeo alive in the community. No one seems to remember the hard work as much as they remember the friendships, fun, non-profits supported and the opportunity we’ve had supporting the sport of rodeo and a community we call home.

Over 100 years of community support has made the Clovis Rodeo into the great organization it is today!

Thank You Volunteers!!
