the 2009 Clovis Rodeo - April 23rd - 26th |
| Mutton
Busting Entry Form
|
Mutton
Bustin' is an increasingly popular event. The competition was
developed expressly for young rodeo fans. This activity gives
them the opportunity to get in on the act of being a rodeo competitor!
And, if you never noticed, it's a huge crowd pleased too!
The Mutton Bustin' event is open to youngsters between five
and seven years of age. Kids must weight 60 pounds or less.
The contestants use a wool or rope to stay mounted atop the
sheep. The kids are released from the chute and must attempt
to ride for the alloted time to qualify. The highest score is
given to the one who stays on the longest.
Official judges officiate. In the event of a tie, a coin
flip decides the winner. All decisions are final. The Mutton
Bustin' winner for each performance will be awarded a beautiful
silver championship buckle, a Resistol Hat, and best of all,
have the exclusive bragging rights for a whole year!
There is a best dressed contest during each Mutton Bustin' performance
too. Deck out the kids and have some fun.
