Make Plans to Attend
the 2009 Clovis Rodeo - April 23rd - 26th |
Rodeo Announcer Wayne Brooks
One of the Finest in the Country! |
The
Clovis Rodeo Association is proud to have PRCA announcer,
Wayne Brooks , back with us this year. Wayne has
brought a fresh enthusiasm to the sport enjoyed by thousands across
the nation.
Like many announcers, his rodeo career began in the arena as a contestant.
While competing in the roughstock events, he gained an insight into
the sport - which he presents to the audience to make them truly a
part of each performance. As a commercial voice talent, a broadcasting
background
has proven invaluable in rodeo promotion and sponsor recognition. Combining
this experience with his knowledge of rodeo, Wayne has created an
announcing
style that is both informative and entertaining. Whether it’s wild
and western or polished and professional, it’s excitement at its best!
Wayne has had the pleasure to announce the Canadian National Finals,
the National
Finals Steer Roping, twice the Dodge National Circuit Finals and three
Wrangler Tour Finales (MGM). He has also had the honor of being selected
as alternate to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and being nominated
for the 2003 and 2001 PRCA Announcer of the Year. Though he was born
in Prescott, Arizona, he was reared on the ranchlands of Wyoming and
Colorado. He believes it was this raising that instilled in him the
importance of preserving the heritage of the West.

Now,
as he announces such prestigious rodeos as the Calgary Stampede,
the California Rodeos in Salinas, Clovis and the Red Bluff Round-Up,
Wayne
continues to give credence to the mystique of being Western. Although
his schedule takes him from California to Florida, and from Arizona
to Canada, Wayne makes him home in Lampasas, Texas with his wife,
Melanie; their daughters, Taylor and Sheridan; and son, Ace. He believes "being
involved with rodeo has always provided me the opportunity to do what
I enjoy. It’s the people that make a difference - and rodeo has the
best." |
